We are actively seeking a Cyclical Technician to join our clients team covering West Sussex, details below:

Cyclical Technician

£12.02p/h PAYE

Temporary contract running until 31st March 2024

Mobile role covering all areas across West Sussex

Monday to Friday, 9am-5.30pm (37 hours per week paid)

The work will involve making site visits to anywhere in West Sussex, working from home also possible. The person will undertake audits of our cyclical maintenance operations to ensure that these have been undertaken in accordance with the contracts – this will include road gulley cleaning and jetting, grass cutting, hedge cutting, vegetation clearing work, ditch cleaning.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be a key member of the Cyclical Maintenance Team and will support the
team on a wide range of technical work. This will include site visits, raising work
orders, liaising with customers and stakeholders and providing information and analysis to support the teams work. Whilst supporting the team on a number of
tasks, you will have responsibility for specific areas of work.
The team deals with a number of highway issues on a day-to-day basis and this
role means that you will largely support the Cyclical Maintenance Coordinator,
but you will work across the team so will also provide some support for the
Principal Engineer.
The role will include undertaking walked site visits, which may mean being
exposed to unpleasant environmental conditions due to being outside. You ll
need to be able to travel independently to various locations around the county.
There is a regular and intrinsic requirement to communicate in English with
members of the public.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Key Skills:
1. Ability to interpret complex information to produce a high-quality document
with limited guidance. Also, the ability to organise and plan and meet set
targets e.g. prepare reports, plans and a range of written material.
2. Good communication and interpersonal skills in order to provide clear and
concise specialist advice and guidance to a range of clients and create
effective working relationships.
3. Ability to present information presented clearly, concisely, accurately and in
ways that promote understanding, either verbally or in written / electronic
format.
4. Excellent literacy and numeracy skills in order to analyse and interpret
complex written material and to respond to complex correspondence.
5. Strong customer focus with the ability to work as a key contact and provide a
professional service to meet public needs.

Qualifications and/or experience:

* 5 GCSE's with A-C (9-4) passes, including Maths and English, or equivalent qualification, or demonstrable equivalent comparable experience.

* Demonstrable evidence of delivering an effective, efficient professional service to a range of customers.

* Experience of dealing with the general public and the ability to represent the County Council when meeting the public.

* Sound and accurate working knowledge of IT, including Word and Excel (or equivalent packages) in order to carry out research, analyse documents and present data.

* Full driving licence
