We have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Coordinator to join the Atlantic Institute based at the Rhodes Trust, Oxford. This role will be responsible for supporting communications activities to further the Institute’s Communications Strategy and Strategic Plan.

The role

The postholder will provide administrative and editorial support to the Communications team and, alongside the Communications Lead and Multimedia Editor will support on a wide range of digital communications across many different audiences, from Fellows through to policymakers, the media and other interested stakeholders.

The role will be responsible for;

* Work with the Communications Lead and Multimedia Editor on all communications activities by amplifying the work of Global Atlantic Fellows and the Atlantic Institute with the aim of increasing their impact and influence.

* Create engaging, high-quality, thought-provoking content that is specific to particular social media platforms and communications campaigns to drive up engagement as we pivot more to external audience engagement.

* Generate, gather and edit content for the Atlantic Fellows website, including working with Fellows to build trusting relationships and to source materials including blogs.

* Manage liaison with the web developers and Institute staff to support the ongoing development of the website and to ensure timely delivery of content and sourcing of high-res photographs.

* Support for video production, including assistance with pre-production, filming logistics especially for remote film production, liaising with the production crew as needed on location to ensure continuity and delivery of contracts.

* Manage podcast production, including liaison with the Institute’s Multimedia Lead and the podcast producer, scheduling of recording sessions, research and support for pre-production, production of artwork and liaison with Fellows to approve the ‘listening copy’ prior to final production.

Essential skills, experience and qualifications:

* Team player with a positive approach to new challenges and can adapt quickly and efficiently to changing situations.

* A strong attention to detail and be proactive, reliable, responsible and accurate.

* Excellent written communication, storytelling and basic design skills.

* A creative eye and an interest in new and cutting-edge social media content / trends.

* At least 5 years’ experience as an in-house communications professional and ideally experience supporting video and podcast production.

* Experience drafting content for social media and managing the redevelopment and maintenance of websites.

* Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills with the ability to work within tight deadlines.

* A self-starter with a positive and professional approach.

* An interest in the educational and charity sector.

* A confident and professional manner when dealing with internal clients and stakeholders.

* An ability to operate in a global arena and work nimbly under pressure.

* Possess the ability to keep information confidential.

* Proficiency in using the following tools (training can be provided): Photoshop, InDesign, Content Management Systems, Social media analytics and advertising, Hootsuite Pro, Campaign Monitor, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Customer Relationship Management System e.g. Salesforce. Basic video editing skills are desirable but not essential.
