Claims Handler/Adjuster
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £35000 – £45000/annum
An International Global Business is seeking to recruit a Claims Handler/Adjuster to work within their Claims team.
To handle a portfolio of Claims for various business lines including Motor, Professional Lines, General Liability, Property, across multiple jurisdictions.
To accurately assess, adjust and manage genuine claims in accordance within corporate guidelines.
The role is varied and will therefore require good organisation and time management skills. You will be expected to handle claims across various platforms including ECF (electronic claims form) , up to your given authority level from first advice, settlement and closure, including assessing validity of liability and quantum.
If you have experience within any of these claims areas then training will be given in the other claims areas.
Key Responsibilities
* To handle all aspects of the claims and follow specific controls and account requirements.
* To assess and evaluate policy liability and to calculate reserve exposures & assess settlement values of claims.
* To negotiate settlement of claims to bring them to a successful conclusion. This may involve policy holders, other professionals, insurers, loss adjusters, brokers, solicitors and third parties by letter, telephone or meeting.
* To develop and maintain client relationships and look after key accounts which include providing timely and clear responses to correspondence received.
* To create and manage documented files utilising corporate mainframe and other claims department systems. Maintain these through the use of diary, logs, and monitoring tools
* To provide general assistance and support to senior claims adjusters, managers, underwriters and actuaries including projects and ad-hoc tasks as they arise e.g. audits.
* To provide account analysis and aid claims manager and actuaries during quarterly reserve review.
* To ensure service level standards are adhered to
