Hours – 3 days per week (20hrs/wk flexible), Wednesday to Friday, Term time + 2 wks (41weeks)

Hourly rate: £11.89 – £13.00, dependent on experience.

Ingfield Manor School is an established special school based near Billingshurst, West Sussex, for students aged 3-19 years with neurological motor impairments such as cerebral palsy and associated sensory and medical needs. Our provision includes day and residential services, based in our own idyllic grounds.

We are seeking an experienced Catering manager to lead our team of kitchen staff at Ingfield Manor school. Ingfield Manor school has children and young people from 4-19 years with special education needs whereby attention to detail with respect to dietary requirements is an absolute must.  

The successful candidate will have hands on experience of catering for large groups with a variety of dietary adaptation and modified texture needs.  Relevant experience and / or qualifications are essential components for this post to include working with a number of different suppliers.

Job responsibilities

To be responsible for meal planning, preparation, cooking and presentation to meet the needs and specialist requirements of students with special educational needs and disabilities
Manage the small catering team, allocating duties and responsibilities appropriately.
Work closely with the Lead Nurse and other key professionals to offer differentiated menu items in line with dietary requirements
Organisation and supervision of a quality food service, including procurement of food and non-food stock within budgetary constraints
Be responsible for the health and safety of the catering team and ensure that safe working practices are maintained
Ensure excellence in Food Hygiene Standards, including staff induction and food hygiene training.Ingfield Manor School is committed to safeguarding children and young people. Any successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
