Animal Welfare
Ensuring the health, wellbeing and good presentation of the Country Parks livestock (in particular equine and small animals) in order that it be available for public viewing and interaction.
Administering veterinary medicines to ensure healthy livestock.
Maintenance of site and equipment
Under the guidance of the Farm Stockman to maintain buildings, equipment and infrastructure. Thus ensuring a safe sustainable and enjoyable visitor experience whilst maintaining site integrity..
Communication and interaction
To provide a visitor focused interactive experience relating to care and purpose of stock and life.
To assist in planning meetings, supervising seasonal staff, volunteers, student placements and to prepare and undertake activities and jobs.
Administration
Assist the Farm Stockman in planning and recording movements, breeding programmes, licences and veterinary medication, etc., in order to maximise health and presentation of livestock.
Corporate and statutory initiatives – equalities/health and safety/e-government/ sustainability
Awareness of good working practises for self, staff, volunteers and general public.
