Salary : £40500/annum

Following the announcement of our Made in Northampton 2022/23 season, we are recruiting for a Season Producer to collaborate with the Artistic Director on delivering this ambitious programme this autumn and next spring.

The programme encompasses plays, musicals, on-demand theatre, podcasts and new interactive digital work. It engages over 400 artists and visits 45 theatres across the UK.

Job Purpose

Work with the Artistic Director, arts, production, technical, finance and programming, and with freelance creative teams and co-producing partners to line produce Unexpected Twist (Royal Theatre and Touring), Wuthering Heights (Royal Theatre and Touring), Henry V (Royal Theatre and Touring), Who Cares 2032 (Online), Scene Unseen(Online), And Then There Were None (Derngate Theatre and Touring) and Harriet (Derngate Theatre and Touring) on behalf of Royal & Derngate and contribute more widely towards developing, co-ordinating and delivering Royal & Derngate's artistic vision, through productions, projects, tours and events.

Additional Information

This Season Producer role is an 8-month fixed-term contract with a salary of up to £27,000 pro-rata. It is a hybrid working role with 3 days office-based working.

Essential Skills

Experience

Significant experience in theatre production including production, touring and project management, with a confident understanding of a wide range of producing processes
Sophisticated understanding of negotiation and contracting
An understanding of both commercial and non-commercial producing
Working with UK Theatre, Musicians Union, Equity and other industry specific union agreements
Experience of UK touring on the small, mid and large scales
Evidenced and practical relationships with venues, companies, agencies and organisations within subsidised and commercial sector
Experience of managing substantial budgets
Commitment to regional audiences
PR and marketing liaison in support of asset creation and promotional campaigns

Knowledge

Knowledge of UK touring and/or regional theatre
An appreciation of the technical aspects of theatre production
A strong commitment to representation and inclusion
Commitment to and passion for contemporary drama and musical theatre

Skills/Abilities

Ability to work with experienced artists at all stages of work
A track record of being able to manage a varied workload, delivering work under pressure and an ability to work on one's own initiative
Exceptional project management skills
Proactive approach to problem solving
Excellent organisational skills
Excellent communication skills
Attention to detail, highly organised and good prioritising skills
IT literate (e.g. Word, Excel, Databases, Artifax, Tessitura)
