We are working with a leading agency to help them appoint two Design Directors, one for each of their offices in London and the Midlands. This is a highly desirable agency to work for and they are recognised as being a very people centric business with excellent working conditions and benefits including hybrid working.
As Design Director, the successful candidate will take the creative lead on multiple sized projects, running complex presentation meetings with clients & contractors influencing the design direction of the team’s work &, when needed, challenging the client brief to push creative boundaries.
Additionally you will be responsible for coaching & motivating the creative team made up of junior to senior level graphic designers and artworkers, leading the teams creative thinking to generate and develop concepts that provide original, appropriate and effective solutions.
What We Are Looking For:
* Ideally a Degree in graphic design or similar creative degree (alternatively experience gained in the studio will also be considered)
* Extensive industry experience working as a manager or director, leading a design team within an agency environment.
* Candidates with experience across clothing brands, sports brands and designer labels will have a distinct advantage.
* Previous experience within retail communications & spaces at varying scales
* Experience managing, growing and mentoring a team of designers
* Excellent communication skills at all levels combined with strong presentation skills
