Structural Designer
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £20000 – £25000/annum
Our client is looking for an exceptional and energetic structural packaging designer to join their award-winning design team.
You will be involved in a variety of activities from researching and developing new designs, producing high-quality prototypes and mock-ups to building briefs and presenting your work to clients.
The role will see you working with some of the biggest brands and most innovative start-ups to develop world-class packaging across a wide range of market sectors.
Being client facing throughout the design process.
From helping to formulate briefs to delivering impactful and persuasive presentations.
Working collaboratively and constructively with all members and departments within the company to achieve incredible results.
Having an excellent knowledge of design for manufacture in the packaging sector. You will turn great ideas into realistic, tangible and manufacturable packaging solutions.
Ideation, brainstorming and sketching.
Research and development of new packaging formats and solutions.
Development and adjustment of artwork for speculative pitch-work.
Development and output of accurate design files used for manufacture.
Supporting other team members in checking their files.
Building beautifully executed in-house prototypes.
Working with production teams to realize your designs for mass manufacture.
Pack photography and retouching.
Analysis of manufactured products and generation of quality control reports.
A keen eye for detail and great prototyping skills.
Good knowledge of Adobe Creative suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
Some knowledge of Artios CAD or similar CAD programs.
A degree in Product/ Industrial Design, 2:1 or above.
Industry experience preferred but not essential
