Dawson Levy are delighted to be working with our client, a leading specialist in concrete repairs, bridge bearings, post tensioning, expansion joints, jacking, catodic protection and sprayed concrete, to recruit for a Senior Civil/Structural Draftsman to join their West London office.
The Opportunity:
An opportunity for a dynamic, enthusiastic and confident Draftsman to join our client's growing national technical division which is split between London and Telford. You will be base in their London office (Acton).
Job Purpose / Summary:
Working with a team of Design Engineers delivering technical solutions to the client across the UK. Being embedded in a team of dynamic and innovative structural engineers will give you the opportunity to expand your experience of designs and contribute actively to them.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Producing and coordinating the delivery of technical drawings for structural systems
Advanced 3D modelling and animation of structural assemblies and construction stages
Estimate material quantities.
Assist/Engage with Engineers in addressing client's requirements/comments/revisions of the technical package
Liaising with clients to meet project requirements in terms of drawings
Develop and implement Standards of Quality associated to the discipline within the company
Document control
Knowledge & Experience:
Degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering and/or Architecture
Several years post-graduate experience in a similar role and a portfolio of works
CAD software required knowledge: Inventor/Microstation/Autocad/Revit
Desirable software skills: site logistic bid animations / mechanical assembly animations / fabrication drawings of structural elements / CAD-CAE software interoperability
Experience in producing and coordinating the delivery of technical drawings for structural systems
Experience in fabrication of structural elements and construction processes for infrastructures projects / steel structures / RC structures / temporary works
Experience in automation/parametric 3D modelling
Experience in BIM environments at level 3/6D
Experience in implementation of ISO 19650 standard / PAS 1192 / BS 8536 / BS 1192
Experience in document controlling in a contractor's environment
Commercial awareness of material/components/suppliers in the UK market
Development and implementation of Standards of Quality associated to the discipline
A good working knowledge of MS Office (minimum of Word and Excel)
