Science Writer
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £45000/annum
With minimal support from the Science Director, you are responsible for leading scientific writing for your allocated brands. This will include researching and developing technical material, and ensuring that all output adheres to written brief, is accurate in content and editorial style and can be referenced. You will also working closely with Creative Writers, Art Directors and Digital Designers to produce scientifically robust, creative communication pieces across a wide range of media.
Experience
• PhD level qualification in a biological/medical discipline essential
• Proven medical / scientific / pharmaceutical writing experience, ideally gained in a brand communications agency
• Specific experience in developing promotional content for iPad detail aids preferred
• Must demonstrate or have the proven ability to take a job through from briefing to final delivery, with minimal supervision.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills – particularly with regard to verbalising scientific content and ‘translating’ the essence of data to other members of the team
• Excellent and versatile scientific writing and editing ability

• Flexibility, adaptability and resourcefulness

• Judgment and problem-solving
• Excellent quality control skills and meticulous eye for detail – style/consistency, grammar, scientific accuracy, proof-reading, layout, etc.
• Solid understanding of human pathophysiology and disease; ability to learn new and diverse subject areas quickly
• Flexibility and ability to manage simultaneous priorities and changing deadlines
• IT skills – Word, PowerPoint, internet searching
