Company: Working for a global packaging and branding agency onsite with a major healthcare company
Brief :
This is to work on site with this packaging graphic agencies Client in High Wycombe
You will partner with the client's Design team to deliver design adaptation to meet Regional Brand Identity, Packaging Design and Print Feasibility.
You will develop and contribute to the adaptation of design concepts that are equally bold and viable for Consumer Health focused business solutions.
Scope of work includes design adaptation for packaging components within the following categories: Essential Health & Skin Health e.g. Label, Cartons & Tubes.
Partner with other disciplines as needed to define design needs in line with brand guidelines e.g. Marketing, Regulatory.
You will be expected to own/lead the regional work and take decisions within the constraints of the JJD brand guidelines.
You will be involved in multiple projects with critical deadlines that you will successfully deliver on-time and on-budget.
You will grow and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships with the Client and Studio.
Be an advocate to drive and execute environmentally sustainable design solutions.
Roles & Responsibilities –
Design adapting Lead Market Design Intent in line with Marketing Brief.
Knowledge of principles and practices of graphic design
When required, create new or update existing packaging artwork visuals using the in-house Apple Mac computer system.
Prepare Design Intents in accordance with agreed corporate and inter-company standards taking into consideration:Component profiles
Technical requirements of the print operation
House Style
Commercial requirements (bar codes, 'e' marks, etc.),
Marketing requirements (graphics, design layouts, colours, etc.),
Security requirements (component numbers, Pharma codes, barcodes)
Making sure that relevant guidelines on font size, bar codes comply with specifications and guidelines.
Excellent design understanding & knowledge to effectively trouble shoot and resolve design, artwork & print challenges.
Provide skilled & technically competent input and support to L&A Drivers, Marketing and outside design agencies for the creation of new pack designs (concepts).
The maintenance of file management to allow effective file location, back up, archive and transfer.
Excellent command of formats, typography, colour, graphics, tables and layout
Ability to create and produce graphic design materials using a range of media, methods, techniques and equipment
Excellent design, production and pre-press skills
Must be proficient on Mac and a PC platform
Remain up-to-date on latest software applications, printing techniques, production and digital technologies
Bridge design and production disciplines
Experience Needed:
Preferably has experience of Packaging Design
Has a portfolio of previous examples
High degree of literacy coupled with Accuracy skills
Must be proficient in all current major desktop publishing applications, specifically Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat (CC 2014)
Creative flair with a high level of technical ability.
Retouching of Images/Colour correction
Layout and typography
Knowledge of print production
Record maintenance
Proof reading
Excellent communication skills
PC literate in all MS applications
At least a bachelor's degree in design or related field is required.
Design leadership-related experience is required.
Strong visual, written, and oral communication skills are required.
Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite required (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is required.
Up to 75% hands-on design work.
