Our successful and family-owned client in Grantham, are looking for a full-time permanent Mechanical Design Assistant.
They design and manufacture specialist machinery for clients around the world, they have continued to work and grow due to the nature of their product and their excellent reputation.
They are requiring a motivated person who is looking to develop their existing CAD skills within a mechanical engineering design office and gain new experiences in order to progress in their career.
As a Mechanical Design Assistant, duties will include:
* Creating and updating 3D CAD models (SolidWorks)
* Assisting to organise the design office, through updating files & recording / organising current and obsolete design data.
* Producing & updating laser cutting programs for in house manufacturing.
* Helping to implement new processes & procedures.
* Producing full manufacturing drawings.
* Liaising information between different departments.
* Updating & organising maintenance & design manuals.
* Communicate effectively in the workplace.
* Working on your own initiative & on instruction from multiple departments.
As they are a relatively small team, at busy times you may need to answer calls, talk to suppliers and if needed help out in other departments/ areas of the business.
Requirements for the Mechanical Design Assistant:
* Reliable, ambitious, eager to learn & proactive with a keen interest in mechanical engineering.
* Confident with computer software and programs (Microsoft office)
* 3D CAD / Solidworks Experience
* Degree / HNC / HND / A Levels / BTEC / NVQ / GCSE's or equivalent
Recent graduates & Junior Design Engineers will be considered for this role as essential and full training will be given.
