Hours: 8:45am – 5pm (Mon to Thur) & 9am – 4pm (Fri) – There is flexibility on hours
Our client is a market leading corrugated packaging company, they manufacturer conventional corrugated packaging for food and non-food markets.
They are currently looking for a Designer to work within the New Product Development team offering optimised solutions in the corrugated packaging sector supplying to a variety of markets. You will be providing concepts and CAD Designs for the full range of packaging solutions while being able to demonstrate skills in designing on CAD to develop briefs, understand manufacturing processes and have a practical approach to manufacturing.
** Corrugated industry experience is not essential however; the candidate must have CAD experience **
Key Responsibilities:
Working closely with customers, internal teams and external suppliers to produce practical solutions to meet customer demands while considering manufacturing process boundaries
Ensure enquiries and samples are handled professionally from concept of brief through to project delivery
Provide a cohesive channel of communication between the sales and operational team
Ensure that all information issued to the factory is correct to the Customers' requirements
Produce accurate CAD designs and drawings of packaging solutions for use by our Customers and Operations
Produce samples for Customer evaluation and approval
Effectively operate the selected design system as well as our business softwareRequirements:
Ideally, to have a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience within the Packaging Industry
Experience of dealing with design tools, for example, ArtiosCAD, AutoCAD
Knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop etc. would be advantageous
An understanding of factory manufacturing capabilities and systems
Project Management
Good communication skills
An ability to co-ordinate multiple projects
A general knowledge and use of computer systems and PC software
