Lighting Designer – Permanent, full time
£28,000-£35,000 per annum depending upon experience plus bonuses, private health care and gym access.
Office based role in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, with some opportunity to work from home. Will also be required to visit project sites locally, nationally and occasionally overseas.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lighting Designer to bolster our client’s existing, growing team.
Our client is an award-winning audio-visual and lighting consultancy, designing and installing bespoke entertainment and technology systems into high-end homes and commercial environments since 2003.
They are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated team player with a proven track record of working with clients, design professionals and suppliers as well as installations into high-end domestic and commercial projects. Experience in Lighting Design would be preferred, but they would also welcome applications from other design backgrounds or anyone looking to move into lighting design, as training can be provided.

About the role and what we need form you
Our client designs, installs and maintains a variety of emerging technologies including lighting control, cinema rooms, multi-room audio, CCTV and energy saving solutions, to name but a few.
Owing to a fantastic start to 2023, securing a number of exciting new projects, they are looking for a Lighting Designer, with a proven track record to work alongside our existing team on homes, hospitality and corporate projects across the UK. If you are organised, conscientious and passionate about lighting and lighting control technology then our client needs you.
All candidates must be articulate and presentable to work for our client and its discerning clientele.
The main duties of the job include:
Overseeing the lighting design element of our projects
Selection of architectural and decorative fittings for projects
Collating specification sheets and associated documentation
Creation of detailed CAD drawings
Sourcing lighting products and building relationships with suppliers
Building relationships with design professionals in our sector
Liaising with staff, clients, trades, suppliers and other design professionals
You may very occasionally need to spend a night away from home to support with client projects on site, but this will be pre-planned and agreed beforehand
Qualifications and Skills
To thrive in this role, candidates would ideally possess the following attributes:
Proven lighting design experience preferred
Knowledge of architectural and decorative fittings and suppliers
Knowledge of lighting control technologies and best practices
A passion for interiors and how lighting can affect and enhance spaces
A practical aptitude and be willing to undergo further training, where necessary
A full UK driving license is essential
