Are you an enthusiastic and committed individual who has a passion to succeed? We are looking for an Agronomist to join our team at our Lincoln site. You will be committed to working towards our Branston Values and working towards our customer plan.

As our Agronomist you will support the development and quality management of crops grown by the Branston grower group. Not only will you work closely with the Branston grower group you will form strong working relationships internally with our Procurement and Technical team to ensure potato supply meets customer demands. Creating lasting relationships is imperative to this role, ensuring communication is strong to all relevant internal teams and growers is essential to success.

You will be committed to keeping yourself up to date with all aspects of potato growing by attending conferences, meetings, and networking with other technical persons in our sector. This will enable you to be proactive in your approach to supporting growers which can help improve crop output and exceed customer quality specifications.

The role covers all agronomic aspects of potato production and handling with emphasis on developing technical knowledge of the crop, reliable data collection, analysis, and reporting. You will have strong attention to detail, able to meet deadlines and be proactive in your approach to the role

You will play a pivotal role in helping Branston become carbon net zero by helping growers deliver our aspirations and our customers with regards to the environment.

This role is about understanding potato production from seed to customer and everything in between, it is not about selling chemicals or writing chemical recommendations for growers.

Ideally, you'll have agricultural, plant, biological or environmental sciences training, along with field or greenhouse trials experience. Knowledge of crop protection would be advantageous, as would previously experience in agriculture or horticulture. Although a keen interest in the industry is necessary, we'll provide training to the right candidate.
