Salary : £20000 – £23000/annum

Our client a global leader in providing free to air digital channels would like to recruit a talented and inquisitive individual to join their UK Technology team. It would suit someone looking to gain a experience in an exciting company at the centre of the free TV world. The team is responsible for the technical development and management of Freeview, Freeview Play and Freesat connected TV services.

The role will be based at their testing facility in Bedford and occasionally to the London office so ability to travel easily and safely to Bedford and London is a requirement.

This role is intended to provide significant opportunity for personal development – becoming familiar with a range of TV technologies and building experience through working with others. Prior knowledge of TVs or broadcasting is not essential.

A key responsibility of this role will be the testing of new Freeview Play and Freesat TVs and applications such as iPlayer and ITVX. Additionally, the role will help manage the testing and equipment we use together with working closely with TV manufacturers to ensure their products deliver great experiences. The role will require good planning and administration skills together with a passion to learn about new technologies.

Good IT skills combined with some knowledge and understanding of underlying technologies including web technology (HTML5, JavaScript, etc.), network technology (IP networks) and video technology (MPEG, etc.) Experience of Linux (/Unix/OSX) configuration is desirable

Knowledge of and an interest in broadcasting and the connected TV industry.
