Landmarc Support Services currently have an exciting opportunity for a Training Area Operative to join the team at Castlelaw Ranges in Scotland.

As the Training Area Operative your main responsibilities will be to ensure that the Training Estate facilities and ranges are fit for purpose, maintaining a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train, this pivotal role is essential to the delivery of the contract.

We are looking for someone who either has previous knowledge of working on the Defence Training Estate or someone who is keen to learn new skills and bring an enthusiastic willingness to learn, Landmarc will provide full training for the successful applicant.

This position is being offered on a permanent contract. You will be required to work flexibly over a 37 hour week, between the hours of 07:30 – 23:00. There will be a requirement to work some weekends, this is reflected in our Variable Days Allowance.

Main ResponsibilitiesTo ensure that the Training Estate Facilities are fit for use and adhere to safe systems of work

Maintenance and setting up of firing ranges

Construction of targets for range use

Preventative and Reactive maintenance tasks

Grounds maintenance such as fencing, mowing and strimming

Potential for forestry work such as removal of fallen trees (training provided)

Operation and maintenance of plant and equipment  (training provided)

Driving and operating fleet vehicles

Carry out additional duties as required

The Ideal CandidateKnowledge of Health and Safety such as COSHH, manual handling, risk assessments and safe systems of work

Basic labouring, caretaking and DIY skills

Excellent communication skills

Ability to complete documentation

Basic IT skills and ability to use a tablet

Willingness to undertake further training

Must hold Full Valid UK Driving Licence (essential)
