As shipping coordinator for this medium sized Engineering company in Cambridge, you will:
* Manage of international shipping export and imports to EU & R.O.W. including:
* Coordinate scheduling with internal sales and manufacturing teams.
* Book air and road shipments.
* Produce and & maintain export & import documentation in line with HMRC terms & legislation.
* Liaise with customer shipping staff/agents.
* Collate and log IPR and deferment documentation & quarterly returns.
* Manage UK same day and overnight couriers.
* Monitor incoming and outgoing shipments.
* Minimise delays associated with customs clearances and documentation.
* Act as point of contact with shipping and transport agents, including:
* Negotiation and monitoring of commercial terms.
* Claims.
* Account reconciliation and input to internal accounting software (Sage Line 50 Accounts).
There will also be elements of Sales support
Ideally, we are looking for:
* Previous experience in Shipping or Import/Export Administration
* Previous experience working in a busy, open-plan environment
* Good organisation and planning skills.
* Ability to deal with heavy workloads and time constraints.
* Good telephone and interpersonal skills
* Attention to detail and accuracy required.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Proven experience of Sage/ Sage Line 50
* Flexible team player with a can-do attitude and ability to use own initiative is essential
* Ability to learn procedures/processes quickly.
You as the ideal candidate will have:
UK Import/Export knowledge
Knowledge of current Customs clearance requirements
Friendly and supportive working environment, plenty of parking.
