Salary : £12.50 – £14/hour

The UK QCC Shift Leader (SL) will support to ensure customer containment and rework activities are successfully delivered on-time and at the right cost and quality ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded at all times. He / She will also be required to support and lead achievement of Customer Key Project Indicators (KPI’s)

The SL will be based on site at the Customers main manufacturing facility, off-site or satellite operations.

The SL will be responsible to supervise the Team Leaders (TL’s) on shift and ensure all team members are adequately trained and are provided with all necessary tools to perform their duties to the best of their ability.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

* Supervise on shift Team Leaders.

* Ensure successful coordination, organisation and execution of quality containment and rework projects to protect the OEM’s production. Ensuring only OK parts are passed to or accepted on-line ensuring no disruption is caused to the customers build for which Formel D would be held responsible.

* Complete inductions for new employees on-site.

* Ensure the team on shift are trained to applicable quality inspection and rework standards including the use of and application of eApps. (Formel D’s Electronic Data Management System)

* Responsible to create, update and upload documentation in the eApps portal, such as work instructions and risk assessments according to the Customer’s signed legal agreement.

* Open & close containments in eApps.

* Plan and organise resource to ensure targets are achieved. Update and maintain shift planner and confirm manning requirements.

* Ensure the inspection team are equipped with correct tooling, PPE and materials to carry out the required activities in-line with work instructions.

* Ensure a good code of conduct and a high standard of appearance (5S) is consistently maintained.

* Using technical experience and disciplines, assist the Project Co-ordinator in setting up robust projects, usage of tools, jigs, fixtures and technical drawings.

* Responsible for the daily financial, organisation, Health & Safety, quality and morale of the team on shift.

* Gather data for input into plant reports including end of shift report and JLR specific documents.

* Conduct random checks and layered audits to ensure process adherence and to ensure compliance with test results and quality standards. Setting the standard for the team to follow process.

* Ensure start-up and zone conformance audits are conducted daily as per required frequency.

* Ensure TL’s Coordinate quality control, rework and / or logistics.

* Ensure a smooth flow of materials is delivered by the TL’s.

* Deliver each project on-time, as budgeted and within scope by the team.

* Inspect and rework parts when required.

* Ensure eApps is used for data capture for all inspection and rework projects.

* Liaise directly with the OEM and Customers / Suppliers (internal and external) as necessary.

* Attend specific daily/weekly meetings (Sunrise, Start-up, SPQ,8D,PVT,BIW,Reaction e.t.c) as required.

* Support investigation and resolution of customer complaints including CCAR tracker and 8D’s.

* Ensure timesheets are accurately delivered 100% on-time.

* Track inefficiencies on shift and taken appropriate actions to reduce to a minimum.

Requirement:

* Experienced working with OEM’s and Suppliers in the Automotive industry..

* Strong knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of mechanical / electrical systems and their installation and repair methods.

* A keen eye for detail.

* Good organisational skills.

* Knowledge of MS Office tools.

* Good written and oral communication skills
