Senior/Commissioning Editor – Academic Books

We're looking for either a Commissioning Editor or Senior Commissioning editor for a global academic and STM publisher working on their academic books list. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your commissioning experience within a variety of fields across both print and digital products. We're really looking for someone who has excellent author management experience as well as the end to end project management of books titles, whether this is in academic publishing or not!
The responsibilities for the Senior/Commissioning Editor will involve:
Researching and commissioning ideas and authors in line with the growth strategy
Managing the budgets and timelines for each project
Utilising data and evidence in all decision making
Working collaboratively with the team, as well as the external authors
Developing an awareness of the academic books market
At the more senior end of the scale, the role with have one direct report but we are open to those of you who are looking to take the step up into management. If this sounds like you, do get in touch for more information!
