An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic SEND TA / Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants in one of our partner schools in Derby. The school is mainstream school who have funding in place for a SEND TA to work with SLD / Severe Learning Difficulties, MLD / Moderate Learning Difficulties and autism. They are aged 5 – 11 with complex and profound needs.
The post requires caring and talented SEND TAs / Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants who are dedicated to supporting children with educational needs. All applicants must have a minimum of 6 months experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities. Due to the nature of the job manual handling training would be a massive advantage. You will need to feel confident within a classroom environment and be able to take direction from a class teacher. The role will include: Assisting the teacher with classroom preparation 1-1 work with students who require additional support Leading group work Helping the class teacher with pupil observations.
