Industry Sector: Composite and Timber Door Manufacturers, Door Hardware, GAI, FDIS, Fire door Inspection, Window Hardware, Mechanical Locks, Multipoint Door Locks, Profile Cylinders, Door Fabricators, Door and Window Manufacturers, Fabricators and the Fenestration Industry
Area to be covered: Scotland & North
Remuneration: £45,000-£50,000 + £5,000-£10,000 Bonus
Benefits: Fully expensed VW Passat but moving to full electric policy in 12 months (car allowance potential if tied into an existing lease) and benefits package
The role of the Area Sales Manager – Window and Door Hardware will involve:
* Field sales position selling a manufactured range of architectural ironmongery and fire door security solutions
* Manage timber door set fabricators in the North of England and composite / timber / Upvc fabricators in Scotland.
* 70% of your time in Scotland, 30% North of England (one overnight stay per week)
* Deliver a solution based sell of door and window locking products
* Responsible for an area with circa £1m-£1.5m turnover
* Inheriting a territory performing slightly below budget expectation
* Tasked with growing the area in line with company growth targets
* Responsible for circa 60 customers on patch (timber door, composite, timber and Upvc fabricators)
* 50% new business development, 50% account management role
* Four days a week on the road visiting customers and one day working for home/ administration
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager – Window and Door Hardware with:
* Must have experience selling into door & window fabricators
* Must have sold associated window and door hardware ( previous experience selling – multipoint locks, tilt and turn hardware etc. is not essential)
* Ideally working for a doorset or door lock manufacturer or an associated hardware business
* GAI or FDIS (fire door inspector qualification) may be advantageous
* Knowledge of technical regulations/ legislation around internal timber fire door locking systems would be advantageous
* Consultative in approach
* Previous experience of having sold into composite or timber door fabrications is not required, however any contacts may be useful
* Must be a solution sales person, not someone that sells on price
* Autonomous in nature
* Comfortable with monthly reporting and diary planning
* Self motivated, communicative, relationship builder with strong negotiation skills
