Salary : £20000 – £25000/annum

We have an opportunity to join a UK business in the horticultural/growing sector as a Quality Controller at their site just outside Selby, North Yorkshire

THIS JOB IS A CONTRACT FOR 35-40 WEEKS.

Job Role:

* Conduct day to activities to ensure that the Packhouse site is operating in compliance to the defined company, regulatory and customer standards. Checks must be completed accurately and in timely manner with great attention to details and care.

* The QC Function will include all aspects of checks for the quality any other additional tasks such as sampling for customers, sampling for testing – Pesticides, Micro, Water sampling and any other needed.

* The Quality controller is responsible for physical quality check on raw materials and the finished products on the site. Checks must be completed accurately and in timely manner with great attention to details and care.

* The results of this assessment must be communicated, and reported to the Technical, Sourcing and Operational teams.

* The Quality Controller will also liaise with the Harvesting teams, QA Manager, Technical and operational managers on sites and feedback any improvements, communication on improvements needed, and actions that result from assessments, fruit received in pack houses.

* The Quality controller will be responsible for contributing to the team, and maintain relationships and improve ways of working between all areas of the business (Technical, Commercial, Sourcing, Supply Chain, HR and operations)

* To ensure the QC team contributes to the efficiency of the packing operation by effectively communicating quality issues and the provision of solutions to resulting problems, proactive management and assist and feed into supplier quality improvement plans, grower scorecards.

* To ensure that all relevant Quality Management System practices and procedures are correctly completed in an effective and timely manner

* Main Duties & Responsibilities:

* Quality assessments and positive release of product.

* Reporting non-conformances and monitoring implementation of corrective actions

* Monitoring Quality of the finished products

* Assessing product ready for despatch

* Perform production checks as temperature monitoring.

* To be flexible with holiday expectation during busy periods.

* To be flexible with hours of work and shift patterns.

* Ensure that all pallets have a colour positive release sticker on relating to the outcome of the Intake assessment.

* Report all non-conformances or anomalies to the relevant department and use company authorised paperwork and processes
