QA Automation Engineer

Job Type : Permanent, Full Time

Salary : £45000 – £60000/annum

I am looking for a talented QA Automation Engineer to join a great team working on an interesting set of software development projects. You will be working in a small team of automation engineers within a wider engineering function of around 25 front end, back end, dev ops, other QA and support staff. My client has automated testing core to each of their scrum project teams and they’re working towards full coverage on all new development. The automation team has been in place for the last 12-18 months.

Key Responsibilities:

● Work within the strategic framework for test automation across the company’s products and projects to support the company’s CI/CD pipelines
● Participate as the automation engineer in scrum teams. There may be another automation engineer or manual QA in the project. This means writing and maintenance of automated test cases and scripts.
● Work with product owners, designers, and front end and back end engineers to understand user stories and how to test them successfully
● Create and maintain automation test environments as required

Technical skills:
● Gherkin (Cucumber)
● GitLab
● AWS
● Other Modern testing frameworks
● Git as a version control system
● Advanced SQL skills

Required Skills:
● Evidence of strong team leadership
● Strong automation experience using multiple technologies
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Strong presentation skills and proven ability to communicate proposals to both technical and non-technical audiences
● Ability to analyze, plan and estimate testing requirements
● Evidence of automated reporting across the QA function

Desirable Skills:
● Azure Dev Ops (ADO)
● API testing

● Strong analytical and problem solving skills
● Understands the value of testing, quality, continuous integration, source control, and code reviews
● Excellent team player
