We are looking for a Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager to join a business with a first-rate reputation in their sector.

As a purveyor and distributor of fine food from around the world – they source the highest quality products they can find, from truffles to caviar to chocolate, and much, much more. Through close partnerships with their trusted suppliers, they deliver the highest quality fresh and frozen food products to the finest restaurants, hotels and retailers in London and the surrounding areas.

The Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager will be an essential part of the operations department and provide knowledge, enthusiasm and leadership to a team of five buyers

Key Role Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate the team to ensure accurate ordering and efficient processes are followed in order to meet the needs of our customers.
Take ownership of your own portfolio of key suppliers. Negotiate prices, develop forecast and building relationship.
Seek out new opportunities and present proposals to senior management designed to improve processes and the product range.
Manage inbound logistics via third party providers based in Europe
Oversee the smooth flow of goods from EU. Ensure correct procedures are adhered to enable smooth passage of goods across the border.
Create and update the department’s SOP’s and devise and monitor team KPI’s.
Manage company stock holding effectively in order to meet net working capital target.
Work closely with the Head of Operations and IT to ensure software systems for Purchasing and Supply Chain are robust and meet the needs of the business.
Recruit, train and develop an efficient and effective team to deliver the highest service levels for our customers.
Person Specification:

A proven track record of achievement in a similar management role within purchasing or supply chain.
Strong people management skills with a positive and collaborative approach.
A knowledge and passion for fine foods and fresh produce.
Experienced in customs clearance and import procedures.
Organised with excellent attention to detail.
Knowledge of ERP / WMS systems – experience using SAP an advantage.
Good IT skills with knowledge of Microsoft applications: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
The successful candidate will be rewarded with an excellent package that includes a basic salary in the region of £40-45K (dependant on skills and experience) and excellent benefits.
