Job Type : Permanent, Full Time

Salary : £32000 – £34000/annum

Our industry leading client are looking for a shift production manager (days) based in Manchester.

Job Purpose:

To support the Shift Leader in managing the daily operation, taking ownership and accountability for meeting operational objectives and targets. To provide excellent standards of service at all times to maximise client enjoyment of products and to ensure the site and its assets are safe and secure at all times.

Job Roles:

* To ensure all products are to specification.

* Assist in continuous staff training programs.

* Responsible for maintaining and improving quality standards and appearance of all foods served.

* Organising the inventory, storage, and distribution of foodstuffs and supplies

* To ensure and check all products are packed into the appropriate airline equipment ready for dispatching to aircraft.

* Pack carts to the required standard and in accordance with passenger numbers.

* Ensuring stock levels are maintained to the required levels and rotate stock is rotated to get maximum shelf life.

* Ensure production schedules are met and all products meet the required standard before leaving the unit.

* Adhere to Unit safety measures in place, adhere to inflight services security compliance and adhere to clean as you go standard.

* Interact with, colleagues, customers and clients in a professional manner at all times.

* Drive, direct and implement unit Corporate, Social, Responsibility initiatives.

What we'll need from you:

* Minimum 3 years of experience within food. (Preferably catering)

* The ability to work calmly under pressure.

* Excellent communication, team work and customer service skills.

* Good literacy skills, verbal written and spoken.

* Operational awareness, understand of HACCP, COSHH, DVLA requirements and any other vehicle requirements as specified by your manager.

* Support planning and managing the team’s output to ensure delivery of business, section and customer targets.

* Carry out performance monitoring of team members on a daily basis and escalate concerns to operational Manager.

* Attend/conduct daily operational meetings/briefings. Present accurate information and data as requested.

* Excellent communication and presentation skills. Concise and professional in delivery.

* Proven leadership ability

* Contribute and manage within defined systems of working to ensure quality of product, service to the customer and team progression/development

* Rotate through different departments/units as reasonably require

* Instigate and support continuous improvement initiatives
