Production Engineer
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £30000 – £35000/annum
Our client is a rapidly growing, family run small food manufacturing business with a focus on innovation.
They are seeking a Production Engineer who has a logical approach to engineering within a fast-paced manufacturing environment working with food production machines. You will have an engineering qualification or apprenticeship along with strong project management, communication, and analytical skills, with a "can do" and accountable attitude.
The key responsibilities of a Production Engineer are to:
* Create, maintain and maintenance programme for all machinery, ensuring that all required manuals and necessary spares are up to date and onsite.
* Respond quickly and efficiently to machine breakdowns, completing any immediate repairs that can be carried out to get the machine running asap and carryout root cause analysis and schedule any preventative work required to prevent the issue reoccurring.
* Support and maintain products already transferred to production.
* Investigate, improve, and develop manufacturing processes with a robust and complete transfer to manufacturing.
* New Product Introduction – process development and a robust and complete transfer of the product to manufacturing
* Manufacturing documentation, including Process Sheets & Inspection Sheets
* Produce procedures & work instructions
* Assist in the training of manufacturing personnel
* Specify and develop all fixtures, gauging and software
* Specify machine set-up programmes
* Work on Lean Manufacturing principles – analyse production processes and propose/implement improvements to reduce lead time, reduce cost and improve efficiency.
* Liaise with suppliers on technical issues.
* Assist with NCR investigations to improve efficiency of manufacturing processes by analysing non-conforming product issues, proposing, and supporting countermeasures.
* Supervise initial production runs.
* Resolve technical issue
* Helping to advise on factory layouts and new automated machinery
* Manage Apprentice Maintenance Engineer
* Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the Company and legislative requirements for Health & Safety and adhere to quality management system
As a Production Engineer you will receive a competitive salary and annual discretionary bonus.
Hours are Monday – Friday 7am to 4pm.
