The Procurement team is made up of Senior Procurement Managers, Procurement Managers and Category Specialists and Procurement Specialists. It's a sociable and fun team. This global function has the greatest range of contracts out of all of Procurement and the best track record of promoting people. It has the widest number of stakeholders. Spend under contract right now is almost £100m and growing.

General Responsibilities:

Running RFPs for new and existing spend; lead negotiations with suppliers
Look at cost savings AND value, for example, what risk can you identify in the contract, review and pick out key concerns in contracts and statements of work therefore creating less work for the Legal team
Look at high risk contracts, which might be low in value, but are sensitive around GDPR or intellectual property ownership, etc.
Putting supplier frameworks in place
Creating stakeholder relationships – blend of "brownfield" i.e. they have some idea about Procurement but don't use Procurement all the time because they have ad-hoc requirements. Some are existing relationships.Key Skills:

End to end strategic sourcing experience – ideally led on this but if not then a strong understanding of the process
Any experience in buying technology is useful, but not essential
Able to demonstrate how you'd approach an RFP, negotiation and contract (some understanding of contract milestones, payment conditions, liabilities, etc.)
Self-starter -knows when to escalate but when to make decisions too
Curious mind-set
Able to establish relationships
Ambitious to grow and develop as a Procurement professional
