British Gymnastics has the following permanent/temporary full/part time post, based from Lilleshall National Sports Centre/home.

hours 37 hours per week
This is a dual based role working from Lilleshall National Sports Centre, nr Newport, Shropshire (2 days a week) and from home.
Salary range Salary range £21,850.00 to £25,700.00 per annum (dependent upon experience) + contributory pension + 39 days annual leave (includes Bank Holidays and Company Days)+wellbeing and excercise weekly hours
The Role
The main responsibilities are:
-Promote and celebrate our work, gymnastics, and all those within it
Build understanding of and support for British Gymnastics and our work through comms and PR activity
Take the lead on driving and delivering a regular drumbeat of content and coverage on local, regional and industry external channels, supporting the Communications Manager and Press Officer as part of an overall PR approach
Build awareness, interest and an appreciation of our sport, disciplines, our community, GB teams and gymnasts and our work through a regular flow of creative and dynamic multi-platform content on British Gymnastics’ website and social-media channels
Own the development and delivery of British Gymnastics’ communications approach to awareness moments in the calendar, particularly around inclusion and diversity, working collaboratively with the ED&I team, internal departments and external partner organisations
Lead on and/or contribute to producing publications as requested by the Communications Manager, such as event programmes and the annual report
Be a PR, communications and content expert internally, using insight to build understanding and share your expertise. Conduct periodical reviews and use insight to evolve plans and activities
The Person
Applicants will need to demonstrate:
-. Knowledge, Skills and Expertise
Proven knowledge and expertise in PR, communications,content,editorial and storytelling; A working understanding of the media, how to build positive and collaborative relationships ;proven experience of driving and selling in coverage. Confidence and experience in conducting interviews; experience and ability in creating/delivering content through a range of communications channels such as websites, social media and email broadcast tools.
You will have excellent multi-media content creation and storytelling skills;writing skills that allow you to compose compelling, engaging, and impactful copy. As such, it is expected that you will possess at least intermediate IT skills.
Having an existing broad and technical understanding of gymnastics, its sporting events and/or the wider sports sector would be an advantage, or alternatively as would an ability to pick up detailed and complex information to quickly become a subject-matter expert.

In delivering the role. you also directly correspond with members of the British Gymnastics community, elite gymnasts and media on a regular basis, including when on your own
3. Shaping Direction
In this role you will be responsible for driving results aligned to strategic priorities. As role holder, you will shape and deliver the editorial approach and calendar, ensure high levels of content consumption, and act as Editor on a number of high-profile publications and communication outlets
4. Developing Solutions
This role requires you to be proactive in your work, creating opportunities and making things happen. It will also resolve a number of challenges, including
Managing/prioritising workload, ensuring deadlines are met and opportunities are maximised
Generating a number of editorial plans to service the editorial policy and span all the communication channels in the mix
Conceptualising/generating original ideas and approaches for editorial, content and campaign support, driving content consumption
Helping to manage the social media community and their responses to ensure BG is portrayed positively.
Assisting the development and management of operations and processes, e.g. workflow and efficiencies.
Find and implement efficient, reporting tools then analysing results to improve performance.
Keeping abreast of new media channels to market and new technology and recommending new ways of promoting the sport
5. Decision Making
You will be required to make several decisions and recommendations in relation to the commissioning, format and quality of content, channel selection for content which will have an impact on how products, programmes and activities are positioned and promoted, how events and disciplines are covered and how the sport is promoted. You will have responsibility for outcomes related to the internal and external perception of the sport and British Gymnastics, and support multiple disciplines and BG initiatives
6. Communicating
In this role you will require advanced communication skills, and be required to:
Inform and obtain information from a range of colleagues daily in order, to produce creative, accurate and timely publications and communications.
Communicate with gymnastics and non-gymnastics audiences (internal and external) to understand and produce appropriate and meaningful content. The role holder will be expected to represent the role and organisation with positivity, confidence and credibility.Influence senior members of staff with engagement and content ideas winning support.
