The journey continued in 2019 with the launch of Wasabi Home Bento exclusively into Sainsburys. After several years of great success there, the grocery business expanded launching into Tesco in September 2022. Wasabi has now firmly established itself as the No2 chilled ready meal brand and a driver of significant market growth. And we’re just getting started. The leadership team have set out their 5 year strategy which encompasses company growth, franchise and international expansion.

Our menu is renowned for its distinctiveness, freshness and flavour. The cold food range of sushi, pokes and salads are made fresh daily in our branch kitchens and our hot bento, noodle bowls and soups offer an indulgent and comforting alternative to our broad and democratic demographic.

As we prepare for out next phase of growth and innovation, we have an incredibly exciting opportunity for a People Advisor (10 month maternity cover) to join our People Team based in Park Royal. This is a hybrid role, but will require visits in our Restaurants.

The Role:

Supporting the Head of People, the People Advisor will work closely with business leaders and line managers to build people capability, plan and manage talent and develop approaches that achieve shared organisational objectives. They will assist in people expertise for their business area, and support in implementing specific people approaches. They will support the development and continuous improvement to deliver Wasabi’s strategic plans.

The People Advisor will support the Head of People in empowering managers through great people knowledge and processes. Fostering a learning culture that develops managers into inspirational leaders through best-in-class guidance. 

Key Responsibilities:

Acting as first point of contact for managers queries and employee relations

Support in setting a professional foundation in processes and culture – developing a proactive, agile and service focused environment

With the People Partner, work with key stakeholders to bring to life agreed people opportunities aligned to the business strategy

Bring people expertise and developing solutions to help the business area to deliver its strategy 

Foster an environment where employee relation expertise is proactive and preventative in nature 

Build strong relationships based on trust with people across the business

Act as a local point of people expertise for teams that are implementing new people approaches

Support in identifying the root of people and business issues to find solutions

Support the wider People Team in process management and administration to ensure a professional and approachable service to the business

Promote a fair, transparent and inclusive environment

Our requirements:

At least 2 years HR experience in a similar role, preferably in a multisite environment

Previous experience in a fast-paced environment

A competent user of Microsoft Excel, Word & Power Point

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Organised with a flexible approach to meet tight deadlines

A strong command of the English language both written and verbal

Working towards a CIPD would be desirable
