About Alzheimer's Society

Dementia devastates lives. By 2025, over 1 million people will be living with the condition. But dementia won't win. Until the day we find a cure, Alzheimer's Society will be here for anyone affected by dementia – wherever they are, whatever they're going through. Everything we do is informed and inspired by them.

We are the UK's leading dementia charity. Every day, we work tirelessly to find new treatments and, ultimately, a cure for dementia. We provide expert information, training, and support services to all those who need our help. And we are creating a more dementia-friendly society so people with the condition can live without fear and prejudice.

About the role

At Alzheimer’s Society, we are passionately committed to creating a dementia movement that inspires people to take action and unite against the UK’s biggest killer.

Have you got what it takes to build on our success so far in making dementia the issue of our time? Then we can promise you a stimulating and varied role in our busy national press team, helping to build a high impact, positive media profile for the charity and our fundraising and engagement campaigns.

The successful candidate will spot proactive opportunities on a daily basis to drive fundraising and engage the public in our work. You will devise and execute creative, integrated campaigns, many of which involve our storytellers and our high-profile celebrity Ambassadors and supporters.

Some of the campaigns you may be working on include our exciting flagship campaigns like Dementia Action Week, Memory Walk and Sport United Against Dementia, promoting the fantastic work of our corporate partners and raising awareness of our vital services for people affected by dementia.

About you

We are looking for someone who can easily demonstrate their experience in working within Media or Marketing Communications. You will possess a great news sense and ability to think creatively to get cut through in the media and will be able to jump on and maximise opportunities.

You must have an interest in working with consumer media, have experience of working with national press and planning large public-facing campaigns and the desire to work in a fast-paced team committed to making a difference.

Our employees work hard every day to make a true difference in people's lives. We are proud to support them with a range of benefits, recognition and many options for working agilely, all contributing to a strong work life balance. We also have various learning programmes to support you in your development and help you grow to realise your potential and shape a career with Alzheimer's Society.

You can also visit our Working for Us pages, which give you more information about what it’s like to be an employee at the Society.

You may have experience of the following: Media Officer, Charity, Charities, Third Sector, PR, Public Relations, Campaign Management, Marcoms, Marketing Communications, Press Officer, External Communications, Journalist, Journalism, Voluntary Sector etc.
