Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £32000 – £50000/annum pension, holidays, social
We are a Family owned Engineering company, we are looking to recruit a Full Time mechanical Design engineer, we are a vibrant forward thinking business and aspire to be the employer of choice for the area. We have a number of vacancies at all levels.

* Solidworks, able to produce parts, assemblies and drawings
* AutoCAD / Draftsight – working knowledge.
* Knowledge of Packaging machines
* Machine building
* Able to carry out all stages of the machine design process,
* Assessing the project requirements
* Undertake relevant research and testing
* Working through concepts and calculations
* Liaising with customers
* Modelling and detail drawing.
* Able to carry out calculations for sizing motors, gearbox's, shafts, belts etc.
* Liaise with outside suppliers
* Familiar with the machinery directive for machine design
* Familiar with servo motor control and other automation equipment.
* Mechanical role – so knowledge of gears, cams and mechanisms.
* 5 years’ experience in mechanical engineering design
* Office – Excel for BOMS etc.
* Special projects
* Confidant and able to present the designs and ideas to all levels
* Methodical with an eye for detail.
* Enthusiastic and self-motivated.
* Team player.
* Resourceful and able to interrogate existing legacy drawings and BOMS in various formats.
* Able to do some reverse engineering when required.
* Some occasional international travel
* Overtime is not common but may be needed at times to meet deadlines
* Manage the design element from start to finish
* Work closely with the project manager
