Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Machine Operative to join our team at Agrial Fresh Produce Wigan in Wigan.

Pay: £13.04 per hour

Working hours: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun 07:30 – 1600

Agrial Fresh Produce is one of three UK food manufacturing factories who are owned by the French co-operative group, Agrial. Agrial has operations across 18 regions with 280 farming outlets and it's not just about lettuce!

As well as the 3 factories we also have a farming operation – Agrial Fresh Farms. All UK sites operate under the name of Agrial Fresh Produce Limited and fall under Agrial's vegetable division. The business is more recognisable in the UK by its Florette salad brand and we are now one of the UK’s leading producers in the industry. We have a recipe for success through our EPIC values and working together as one team. Our Wigan site is a well-established business unit that processes and distributes pre-packed, ready to eat, fresh salad bags and bowls to some of the UK's well-known retailers and restaurants. We are based on Martland Park Industrial Estate, which is ideal for travel on the M61, M6 and M62.

Main Responsibilities

* Ensure that all sire rules and regulations relating to personal hygiene, food safety and statutory health and safety are met at all times.

* To be responsible for the care of machinery tools and program settings.

* Ensure all machines are working at full speed, maintaining first time quality standards whilst optimizing overall machine effectiveness by downtime reduction.

* To report all faults/breakdowns/issues immediately to Zone Leader/Zone Manager.

* Ensure all maintenance breakdowns sheets are accurately completed, detailed causes indicated and actions for improvement logged.

* Report any issues with product or process immediately to Zone Leader/Zone Manager.

* Analyse daily paperwork to improve efficient, quality and food hygiene standard, give away and waste control.

* Ensure all on line check sheets (quality, efficient and stock records) are accurately completed.

Skills and Experience Required

* To have Basic Food Safety

* To have 12 weeks experience in Food Manufacturing

* To have experience running and setting up bagging machinery

* To be able to carryout instructions

* To be able to quality check produce
