Salary : £25000 – £30000/annum

Our client who has been established for over 7 years are a local landscaping company who create soulful gardens inspired by nature. They are currently looking for a skilled Landscaping Operative to join their hardworking dedicated team in St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience within a similar position, experience of operating machinery to execute groundworks phases of projects, possess high-end finishing experience covering paving/surfacing and fencing. You will also be able to manage workflow on site, have strong communication skills and be a team player.
As a Landscaping Operative you will provide a high standard of work and leadership through all phases of garden construction projects, acting as point of contact on site for clients and designers, as well as recording and detailing daily work progress using the company’s operation management tools.
This role does require a full clean driving licence.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:
* Demonstrable experience in a landscaping position
* Experience of operating machinery to execute groundworks phases of projects including ground clearance, setting out, excavations for and installation of foundations
* Possess high-end finishing experience covering paving/surfacing and fencing
* Be able to manage workflow on site, planning tasks around variables such as weather
* Have strong communication skills both internally with colleagues and externally with clients and designers
* Be a strong team player
* A desire to learn and fill gaps in skills and knowledge
* Ability to embrace innovation by improving and adapting to new processes and methods both on and off site
* Hold a full clean driving licence
Desirable skills:
* Proven track record of additional high end finishing skills covering carpentry, walling and/or rendering
* Knowledge and understanding of irrigation and water feature installations
* Proven ability to lead a team and develop colleagues at a more junior level
* Traditional skills such as dry-stone walling
* Chainsaw and spraying certificates
Your duties as a Landscape Operative would be:
* Providing a high standard of work through all phases of the garden construction process
* Jointly overseeing the development of one apprentice
* Using your experience to work closely with the Landscape Foreman to help inform decision making on site
* Be able to lead on certain skilled tasks, working independently and without supervision
* Providing administrative support, including estimating, design, operations management and development of the company’s method statement resources
Salary:
Up to £30,000 per annum
Hours:
Monday – Friday, 7.30am – 4pm (times may vary)
