We are in search of a talented and enthusiastic Junior Design Engineer to join our growing team. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a passionate individual to kickstart their career in design and engineering. Reporting to the Head of Projects and Development, you will play a crucial role in supporting the design team, contributing fresh ideas, and gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of the design process.
Responsibilities:
* Working with suppliers and external technical consultants such as engineers, architects, surveyors, and specialist contractors to design the most appropriate project layout for site conditions, considering industry best practices,
* Preparing project briefs, drawing packs and site-specific plans.
* Producing pre-construction information packs for the delivery team and contractors, to support tendering and the handover of projects from development to construction,
* Showing an interest in other technologies and developing technologies within the sector and support design aspects where necessary,
* Assist in the development of design information and technology detail from our suppliers, and is ‘capable of’ or ‘willing’ to learn to design in 3D,
* Supporting other in-house design work as necessary and liaising with other design teams to share knowledge.
* Work closely with experienced professionals to enhance your skills in design, engineering, and project management.
* Managing internal drawing filing systems and supporting the innovation of improvements.
* Learn and stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in design and engineering.
Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Project preferred but not essential.
Ability to actively participate in team discussions and articulate ideas and basic understanding of design and engineering concepts.
Familiarity with design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
