4 day week, alternate weekends off!

We are looking for Jnr Sous Chef to join a small but very friendly kitchen team at this 5* residential home based near Twyford in Berkshire. Part of small group, the business is very well known for their high standards across the board both in care, service and of course, hospitality. Good fresh food is very important to the residents and they are used to quality meals throughout the day.

A typical day involves a breakfast service, followed by a hot lunch. The evening tends to be lighter options, sandwiches, cheese, crackers, fruit etc.

The hot lunch meal is the meal that requires all the hard work and creativity. A typical meal could be Beef bourguignon, Game Pie, Tagine, through to roast dinners on a Sunday, Fish on a Friday. They also bake all their own biscuits. Desserts include Lemon Posset, Crème Brulee, Tiramisu, through to hot crumbles & home made pies.

We are looking for a 2nd chef, ideally that has worked at Chef de Partie level upwards that can follow recipes and dietary requirememts. It is also essential you are good with people, have a calm and positive attitude and love to cook. The residents at this facility mean everything and all staff go out of their way to make sure they are looked after to the best standards possible.

The working hours here are 8am-6pm, working 4 days from 7 (5 days week 1, 3 days week 2) You will alternate the weekends with the Head chef.

Hourly rate is £13 based on a 40-45 hour week
