IT Support Engineer
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £25000 – £28000/annum
Nelson Permanent Placements are currently recruiting for a client who is a forward thinking innovative IT & Telecommunications Business who are now looking for a IT Support Engineer to join their team. Our client is currently growing at a rapid rate with an ongoing portfolio expansion and therefore is looking for an IT Support Engineer to work in a busy service desk environment.
The IT Support Engineer must have vision and a growth mind-set to help and support our client’s customers to maintain excellent service and repeat business.
This is a desk based position so you will be expected to work in the client’s office in Shropshire.

Key requirements
• Previous work experience within a busy Service Desk environment, supporting IT and Broadband/Leased Lines
• A good understanding of Windows Desktop Operating Systems
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Experience supporting Office365 applications and managing tenants
• Solid experience troubleshooting 1st line issues with ability to jump into 2nd line if required
• Excellent phone manner and technique
• Able to demonstrate experience of working high-pressure environments and dealing with pressurised situations
• A sound understanding of e-mail flow and transport.
• Working knowledge of LAN, WAN and WiFi networks
• Enthusiastic, energetic & self-motivated
• Great communication skills
• Strong relationship building skills
• Team player
• Excellent analytical skills
Desirable to have
• Experience configuring and installing Routers & Firewalls
• Exposure to Microsoft Windows Server and basic understanding of RAID
• Experience using remote access software like Remote Desktop, Teamviewer, AVG
• A good understanding of VLAN, Subnets & NAT Routing.
• A full UK Driving License
• Working knowledge of ITIL
• An interest in or previous experience of Server / infrastructure installs
