SUMMARY OF POST:
Role Purpose:
The purpose of the assessor is to provide end-point assessment (EPA) services for hospitality apprentices and employers working with apprenticeship standards. Hospitality Independent Assessors are required to always provide, fair, reliable, and consistent assessment judgements.
The Hospitality Independent Assessor will use a variety of assessment techniques, as detailed in the assessment plans of the standards they are appointed to work with. At all times they will act with integrity and impartiality and ensure all aspects of their assessment delivery, is inclusive, accessible, and responsive to the needs of the apprentice.
Role Responsibilities:
Delivering outstanding hospitality assessment services to assigned apprentices and employers.
Coordination of work activities to ensure that pre-assessment meetings and or calls/communication and assessment activities and reports are undertaken and completed within specified timescales and to the standards required by the specified assessment plans.
Providing accurate and comprehensive information to hospitality apprentices and employers regarding the end-point assessment requirements in compliance with the assessment protocols.
Completing and maintaining all assessment and regulatory paperwork and data processing, using approved IT systems and software, in line with company requirements, legislation and regulatory requirements, set by funding and regulatory bodies.
Presenting assessment work for internal quality assurance (IQA) checks in timescales agreed and processing all action points within deadlines provided by the IQA team.
Liaising regularly with the EPA administration team, EPA team and quality team, to ensure calendars are fully booked.
Taking part and the recording of all agreed development activities to support continuous professional development (CPD), including the attendance of standardisation activities and assessment instrument testing, where requested.
To adhere to relevant company policies and processes and use company systems for recording assessment activities as directed by the quality team and the quality processes, to include declaring any conflicts of interest and maintaining confidentiality of data and materials.
Maintain an agreed caseload and undertaking assessments within the allocated time, as specified in assessments.
Maintaining CPD activities in line with assessment plan requirements, to include working towards and maintaining the status of a grade 1 assessor as described by the company risk banding criteria.
Knowledge/Experience/Qualifications:
Level 2- must have hospitality experience (and ideally equivalent level qualification) as a minimum: two years of recent experience or significant experience (Experience could be interpreted as voluntary/work placement as part of training).
Level 3- held an equivalent role akin to the hospitality apprentice for at least three years, within the last three years
At all levels/standards, assessors need to be able to evidence current CPD and ideally must have worked in the sector and ideally have a recognised assessor qualification. BUT for a really good candidate, we will look at providing assessor training
