A sporting venue in Sunderland is searching for a Grounds Person to join their business on a full time, permanent basis.
Your main responsibility will be the stadiums pitch and additional pitches at the training ground, ensuring the playing surfaces are prepared to the highest of standards.
Your role
· Preparing the surface for the first team to play on, this will include mowing, line marking, watering and repairing any damage
· Preparing the land and making sure there is enough water and good enough drainage
· Constructing and putting up sporting equipment
· Applying fertilisers, weed killers and pesticides
· Using hand tools such as rakes and spades
Your experience
· Proven experience as a ground keeper, ideally within a professional sports environment
· Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
· Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends and match days
· Have the capability of prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
