Grounds Maintenance Contract Manager

West Yorkshire

£35,000 per annum depending on experience

The purpose of this role is to support our corporate horticultural client in managing staff so they work productively and safely to ensure public, green spaces are maintained to the best of their potential with the resources available.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

* Manage a team of Supervisors, Team Leaders and Grounds Maintenance Operatives.

* Delegated responsibility for the performance management and H&S of the staff.

* To arrange work schedules and working patterns to ensure best productivity and safe working.

* Client liaising on landscaping projects, ensuring work is delivered to expectation and on budget.

* To ensure staff work safely at all times and that accidents and near misses are reported and measures put in place to mitigate against these.

* To inspect all contractual work to ensure the contract requirements are being achieved.

* To communicate effectively.

* Recruiting the right people within your division including direct labour and subcontractors.

* Identifying the ongoing development needs of your team.

* Assisting with business development and supporting the Estimating Team where required.

* Procurement of materials and any subcontracted works to within the forecasted budget.

Person specification:

* Demonstrable contract management experience gained within a grounds maintenance or horticultural environment.

* In possession of horticultural qualifications.

* Full driving licence.

* Excellent IT skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and interface with a diverse range of people.

* Excellent understanding of Health and Safety.

* To motivate and engage with staff to improve performance at work.

* A proven ability to improve green open spaces in line with client requirements.

* Highly accurate and well organised, able to manage and process large volumes of paperwork and work schedules.

* Able to plan ahead and ensure the specification and work schedules are met.
