My client is a market leader within their industry and currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced GRADUATE MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER to join their team at their manufacturing facility in Hope Valley.
ROLE:
An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic and driven individual to work within a team of committed and multi-disciplined engineers responsible for the design development and support of special bespoke products. The role would suit a mechanical engineering graduate with experience in Solid Edge/Works, who enjoys varied and challenging work. There will also be the opportunity for career progression.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting directly to the Lead Design Draughtsman, the Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer will be an integral part of the team, working closely with the experienced design and project engineers helping to understand new and existing manufacturing and design processes.
• Prepare clear and accurate drawings for customer approval and manufacture of products using Solid Edge (2D/3D) and PLM (Data Management).
• Attend any training sessions / meetings when necessary.
• Having input on projects from initial concept stage through to manufacture.
• Assisting with material and process selection.
• Creation of parts lists documentation including BOM’s.
• Apply design techniques such as design for manufacture, design for assembly etc.
• Create Gas / Pneumatic systems, training can be given.
• Knowledge and experience of design change control and release procedures MRP and or ERP systems.
• Support the manufacturing process, resolving and clarifying mechanical issues in products.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Have at least 2 years’ design engineering experience in a mechanical manufacturing environment.
• Experience of BS/EN Standards is desirable.
• Good knowledge of mechanisms with an ability to perform basic calculations.
• Highly motivated with a team orientated work style.
• Be able to read engineering drawings
• An understanding of CAD packages and experience of Solid Edge/Works.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (InforXA beneficial, but not essential as training will be provided).
• Strong analytical approach to problem solving, planning & organisational skills.
• Accuracy and attention to detail, with good presentation and IT skills including the proficient use of Microsoft Office.
PACKAGE
• Basic salary up to £30k based on experience and qualifications.
