Supplying to the industrial, commercial, and private sector, my client is a leading supplier of power distribution solutions throughout the UK. They have an opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer / Fitter to carry out in-house production fitting/assembly, wiring and testing of power transformers.
This role is 50-50 working in the factory and on-site & Transformer experience is ESSENTIAL for this role.
The Role
* In-house fitting and assembly of various types of distribution and power transformers
* You will prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
* You will assemble components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies
* You will ensure that all equipment is assembled and tested to the highest standard
* You will read and understand mechanical and schematic drawings.
* You will use general workshop machinery and hand tools related to the role
* Identify and work with others to resolve inadequate or unclear manufacturing/engineering information.
* Ensure all required documentation is checked and completed correctly and on time.
* Ensure that the companies Quality, Health Safety & Environmental policies, and procedures are constantly adhered with.
* To work unsociable hours, if required, including site work to meet the demands of the business.
* You will be required from time to time to travel to third party sites both in the UK and abroad to build up the equipment and test.
The Candidate
* Hands on experience of working within a mechanical/electrical engineering environment is essential
* Experience of fitting power transformers is essential.
* Experience and competence of working on site fitting power transformers is essential
* The ability to understand mechanical and schematic drawings
* A mechanical or electrical qualification is an advantage
* Experience of Health & Safety and conducting risk assessments is essential
* Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise with customers and resolve issues in a proactive and positive manner
* Strong attention to detail skills
* Flexible, adaptable, and prepared to attend site at short notice/ outside your normal working hours
* ESC accreditation is essential
* Full UK driving licence is essential
Pay & Working Hours
Week 1: 7.45am – 4.45pm Monday to Thursday
Week 2: 7.45am – 4.45pm Monday to Thursday, 7.45am – 3.15pm Friday
2 x 10-minute paid breaks, 1 x 30-minute unpaid lunch break
