Our client who are a specialist company working specifically within the external facade industry are looking to recruit an experienced Facade/Curtain Walling Designer based at their offices in the Berkshire region.
They are looking for candidates with a good technical background in the facade industry including the following:
·Rainscreen Cladding
·Curtain Walling
·Balustrading
·Windows and Doors.
The successful candidate will assume general responsibilities for façade to input to a wide range of clients and projects and pro-actively contributing to the growth of Façade Design and Engineering capabilities.
This includes responsibility for all design, documentation, administration and compliance with project constraints undertaken for the building envelope.
The following is an overview of responsibilities and performance standards required of you as an experienced Façade Engineer:
·Coordinate with client consultants such as architect, structural, sustainability, and acoustic engineers to determine best façade design outcomes.
·Provide design sketches and reports as required for schematic, design development and constructions phases of projects.
·Provide façade engineer design and build-ability consultancy, including material knowledge and installation techniques.
·Manage own projects, liaise with project team members, site meetings, design workshops and site inspection as required.
·Oversee the work of Sub Consultants/Contractors and review outputs produced by them.
·Liaise with other staff, project teams, associated consultants and clients and assist in building and maintaining relationships with all of these.
Minimum Requirements:
As an Façade Engineer, you will have experience in a range of façade systems with the ability to develop the relevant solutions for a given project.
In addition you will be able to demonstrate:
·Proven minimum 2+ years experience
·Experience and knowledge in the fabrication and procurement of facades.
·Knowledge of relevant façade & structural software, eg. Autocad
·Proficient in Inventor (3D)
·Able to use all Microsoft Office and related packages
·Self-motivated individual able to use own initiative and work to deadlines given.
·Team worker as well as the ability to apply concentrated individual effort is essential
·Good level of accuracy and administrative efficiency.
·Ability to plan and schedule work.
·Maintains effective work behaviour in the face of setbacks or pressure.
