With demand for our services from our clients at an all-time high and continuous growth and success within our market sector, we are embarking on a major recruitment drive and keen to recruit talented Data Engineers to join our Data Engineering & Insights practice.
The Role
The Data Engineer will support our software developers, database architects, data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company’s data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.
Responsibilities: On-Premise Data Engineer
* Work directly with clients to understand their business problems and translate these into data solutions, from prototype to production-ready code
* Provide technical guidance and advice to help in the design and development of data solutions for data modelling and warehousing, data integration, and analytics.
* Implement SSIS packages to connect operational systems and data for analytics / BI workloads and systems
* You will design and develop scalable data ingestion frameworks to transform a wide variety of datasets;
* You will research, analyse, and help implement technical approaches for solving challenging and complex development and integration problems, supporting the build out of a strategy and roadmap;
* You will collaborate in developing and maintaining a knowledge base of best practices and delivery templates to standardize sales and delivery efforts.
Qualifications for Data Engineer
* Microsoft SQL Server expertise:
* Designing and creating tables, models, views and stored procedures etc.
* Expert understanding of SQL Databases
* Data warehousing design and modelling experience a must.
* Ability to design and create high performance ETL, data transformation and loading techniques from various sources ie Excel, CSV, Structured and unstructured data.
* An intermediate to advanced skill level within Visual Studio and SSIS, with experience of successfully leveraging these in a Enterprise Class environment for a minimum of 2-3 years.
* Preferable SSIS training to advanced level.
* Skills to identify and translate business requirements into technical ETL requirements.
* Ability to structure data designs into various consumption models (3nf, dimensional models)
* Understanding of Agile working methodology, teams and best-practice.
* Enterprise class development experience, code management and an understanding of release management.
* Experience of Code repositories such as TFS or GIT in an Enterprise Class environment.
