My client is a leading engineering and manufacturing company that has enjoyed sustained growth over the past 5 years. Due to this growth they are looking to grow their Finance department by adding an Credit Controller. You will be working within a team of 5 individuals. The working week is a 39.5 hour week.
Key duties and responsibilities for Credit Controller:-
* Manage and collect debt
* Chasing payment
* Post and allocate receipts, daily
* Respond to customer queries
* Resolve queries internally and externally
* Run credit checks on new customers and manage credit limits for existing customers
* Ensure the ledger is well maintained e.g. no unallocated payments, no old balances and accounts should be reconciled
* Reduce the debtors’ overdue balances
* Ensure customers are put on Aging or Credit Hold where payment terms or credit limits have been exceeded
* Taking payments over the phone
* Issue customer statements
* Take court action where required
* Any additional tasks as requested by line manager
Personal requirements for Credit Controller:-
* Previous credit control experience
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Proven record of reducing overdue debtor balances
* Computer literate with good working knowledge of Excel
* Tenacity and ability to form good relationships with external parties
