Rate Of Pay: £10.42 Per hour

Shift Patterns: 30hrs a week Guaranteed, Permanent Contract.

Information about the Role:

Working as a Chef / Cook at Marston Court your duties will include the following:

* Creating, preparing, and cooking fresh, nutritious and varied meals for our residents including those who may require modified or special diets.

* Ensuring preparation and presentation is always to a high standard

* planning meals and consulting with residents and care staff to ensure that individual dietary needs and preferences are catered for

* Some responsibility for ordering, checking in and controlling supplies

* Working as part of a diverse staff team

* Opportunities to influence the menu and the dining experience of those within our care (quarterly review of menus)

* Ensuring that the dining experience is positive

* Ensuring that the kitchen standards are maintained in line with the Safer Food Better Business requirements.

* To prepare and present food to a high standard and quality.

* To ensure that you work within an agreed budget

Information about the Service:

Marston Court is a 22 bed service. Marston Court has two large lounge and dining areas which enables people to socialise at meal times. Recent renovation work on the home now enables people living in the annex to access Marston directly to the upper floor and a lift gives them access to the ground floor of Marston. The two gardens are of good size and people participate in the warmer months to plant seeds and flowers. Both gardens have canopy swings for people to relax and enjoy the views. Marston Court is close by to various local shops and there is a bus stop directly outside the home that will take people and staff supporting them to Leicester’s city centre. Watermead Park is nearby where individuals can access and feed the ducks and take a stroll round the park.

Necessary Experience or Qualifications to work as a Chef / Cook:

* The right candidate will have a real passion for Cooking.

* Relevant experience in a similar setting working as a Chef / Cook / Sous-chef / or Chef de partie.

* Ability to work on shift/rota pattern, including some weekends.

* Have the right to the work in the UK.

* Excellent organisation skills.

* Working knowledge of the Safe Food Better Business requirements.

* Ability to work well under pressure.
