Full Time: 08:00am to 16:00pm – 5 days per week – includes weekends.
Role Purpose:
To provide a catering service to service users.
Responsibilities:
To maintain food hygiene and safety requirements including daily audits of standards.
To comply with the approved menu and enhanced wherever cost effective.
To provide nourishing, cost effective and attractive meals.
To meet special dietary requirements, i.e. vegetarian and food intolerances.
To comply with portion control and minimise waste.
To provide snacks and meals on time.
To contribute to a welcoming and supportive and clean environment.
To clean dining and kitchen areas after the preparation and service of food.
To meet ethnic minority and medical dietary requirements, when practical.
Prepare, cooks and serves main meals, and snacks.
Prepare packed meals, as required by the service.
Prepares alternative individual dishes for service users with special diets, for cultural religious, or medical reasons.
Maintains hygiene standards and cleanliness. Cleans food storage, preparation, and consumption areas.
Records equipment status and stock levels, notifying any shortages or food deterioration and equipment failures.
Responsible for menu planning to avoid wastage.
Provides basic cookery and cleaning skills advice/ training and offers guidance.
Responsible for maintaining weekly food orders, minimising wastage, over ordering and not exceeding budget.
Other reasonable miscellaneous tasks as requested by the dawn centre management team.
