Our client has a thriving business, Importing, growing, packing and distributing a full range of Fruit, Salads, Vegetables and exotics.
Their main site is in Kent with further operations in Spain, with Global import capacity this enables a full year portfolio of products to cover their Retail, Wholesale and Food Service customers.
They are looking for a experienced Compliance Manager to join their Team!
Responsibilities
To take ownership of site compliance by ensuring all aspects of food safety , Quality Management Systems (Including HACCP) operate as required and the company remains fully compliant with customer COP, HACCP, TACCP, VACCP and current legislation.
To take ownership of Farm site compliance by ensuring all aspects of food safety , Quality Management Systems (Including HACCP) operate as required to meet the requirements of Red Tractor.
Lead BRC, Red Tractor and other third party audits that relate to food safety and compliance. Assist Technical Managers with customer visits or audits on site.
Ensure the site is “audit ready” at all times.
Managing a robust internal audit programme for internal and external sites ensuring that auditing programmes meet the requirements of BRC and customers
Ensure corrective actions are pursued to completion.
Ensure that site compliance requirements are communicated within a site plan.
Management of pest control contract and actions
Management of document control system
To assist the packhouse and warehouse with process and decision making on food safety and site compliance.
To review training records and communicate gaps to relevant department heads.
To manage all supplier due diligence and ensure complete compliance to customer requirements.
The Successful Compliance Manager
Experience of managing QMS and document control essential
Experience of Red Tractor essential
Experience of internal auditing.
Managing people and liaising with different levels within a company
HACCP Level 2 minimum.
Food Safety level 2 minimum.
A working knowledge of BRC

QC Function
Ensure QC team is trained in relevant processes and procedures
Work with TMs to deliver product knowledge training
Compliance
Ensuring a robust internal audit plan for the packhouse and farm.
Plans and audits for third party sites.
QMS for packhouse and farm
HACCP Management
Document review and document control for packhouse and farm
Development of all processes, procedures and documents alongside TMs, department managers and farm managers.
Managing training process with teams.
Customer QSL database.

Customer audits
Health and safety
Working Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm and working one weekend day every third week with a day in lieu.
