Our client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Chef to join their fantastic catering team.

As a not-for-profit housing organisation, they provide a comprehensive range of services to over 6,000 homes, including four extra care schemes with providing a great customer experience at the core of what they do.

As one of their great people, the Chef Manager will be responsible for leading and developing their own on site team to deliver the catering and hospitality services at their Extra Care Scheme in Stokesley, North Yorkshire and when needed to provide support at their other sites, with the ultimate aim to be the Best Rural Housing Association in the country.

The Role of Chef Manager

At the heart is leading a team to deliver wholesome elderly nutrition. As part of effectively managing the kitchen you will be responsible for the control of costs, supplies, inventory, resources, and brand standards.

Working closely with the Catering Services Manager, you will be involved in the planning and introduction of new products, meals, and services, ensuring no impact or interruption on service delivery as well as managing regular front and back house audits and implementation of findings to support continuous improvement.

You will also deliver the companies food safety management system (HACCP), ensuring temperature control records and food labelling are complied with and colleagues are trained and remain aware of all safety standards and procedures.

Other Information:

· Working hours are between 8am and 5:30pm, no evening work or split shifts

· Overtime is possible to ensure service delivery

· You will be required to work 1 weekend in 3

About you

Their ideal candidate will have:

· Experience of working within the catering industry and supervising staff

· Understanding of budget and financial control methods

· Knowledge of stock management and menu costing processes

· Knowledge of healthy eating principles, dietary requirements, and food allergens.

· City & Guilds 7062 or NVQ level 4 in professional cookery

· Food hygiene certificate level 3

· Good organisational and interpersonal skills

· Developed management skills
