Pay Rate – £21.45 per hour
Location – Reading RG41
Shift Timings – Monday to Friday, 0700am to 1500pm. Please note this contract is for 1 year, to start as soon as possible.
BardWood Support services are delighted to announce that we are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Chef Manager. This role is for up to 1 year, working in a busy school environment, where your main duties will be to coordinate the team and ensure the smooth running of the kitchen, assist in preparation of the meals, all whilst adhering to the relevant regulations. The right candidate must be confident in their management skills, as well as working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Your main responsibilities may include:
Preparation hot and cold meals: prepare food in accordance with agreed menus & recipes
Responsible for managing food delivery within the school
Adhering to current HACCP and food safety regulations & procedures
Ensuring and encouraging clean processes of food preparation
Managing Food Production levels while minimizing the wastage
Use current management system to maintain food safety records
Monitor and arrange orderly and secure storage of supplies
Ensure safe working practices around the kitchen equipment and monitor and deal with any maintenance issues.
Maintain accurate stock levels, including kitchen materials.
Assist in achieving financial targets set out by the Executive Chef and Facilities Manager
Assist in managing waste through correct product measurement
Maintain personal knowledge by completing in-house training & by attending courses
Always adhere to all company policies & procedures
Be involved and contribute to team meetings
Carry out all instructions given by the management team & head office
Treat all customers with courtesy and consideration, in accordance with customer service training.
To succeed in this role, you will need the following:
Minimum of 1 years experience as a Chef Manager within a similar environment
Enhanced DBS required
5-year checkable work/career history.
Physically fit to undertake given tasks.
Possess the ability to work under pressure.
